OXBRIDGE는 1,000년에 가까운 기간동안 영국 최고의 라이벌 명문대학으로 구도가 형성되어 온 영국의 최고 명문대학인 옥스포드 대학과 캠브리지 대학교를 합쳐서 일컫는 용어입니다. 두 대학은 영국 내 대학 랭킹 1,2위를 차지할 뿐만 아니라 세계대학 평가에서도 항상 10위 이내에 들 정도의 명문대학교이며, 세계적인 석학의 산실, 학문 연구의 중심지로 평가받고 있기도 합니다.
옥스브릿지에 입학하기 위해 매년 전 세계의 학생들이 지원을 하고 있으며, 최상의 성적을 보유한 학생들 중 각 학교와 학부에 적합한 학생들을 선발하여 심도있는 인터뷰를 통해 입학을 허가하고 있습니다. 옥스브릿지에 입학하기 위해서는 단순히 학업성적만 우수한 것이 아니라 교과 외 활동부터 학업에 대한 깊이 있는 이해와 비전을 갖추어야 합니다.
- A level: over AAA
- IB: over 38 points
- 미국: 지원 전공과 유사한 SAT 3과목 이상(과목당 700점 이상 필요) + 지원전공 AP 4과목에서 각 5점
- 호주: ATAR over 98.5 with certificate of Australia High school certificate
- 캐나다: 12학년 최소 5과목 85% 이상 + IB or SAT or APs
- 홍콩: HKDSE with grade 5 or A in three elective subjects
- 한국: 한국고등학교 교육과정 점수로는 지원불가
Dr. Lucy Sweatman는 Abbey College Cambridge의 교감선생님을 역임하고 Oxford and Cambridge 준비반인 Oxbridge Preparation 과정을 이끌어오신 경험이 있습니다. 총 15년이 넘는 동안 영국 보딩스쿨들에서 학생들의 Cambridge, Oxford, Imperial, Harvard 등 명문대학교 입시를 도와 오신 분입니다. OCR과 KCL 영국 GCSE, A level 입시 시험과목 출제자로도 역임하시고, Kings College London과 Durham에서도 업무 경험을 쌓으셨습니다.
