The American School of Bangkok (ASB)은 1983년에 태국 대사의 가족들에 의해 미국 교육을 제공하는 국제 유치원(Didyasarin International Kindergarten)으로 처음 설립되었습니다. DIK가 지역 최고의 국제유치원이 된 이후에 설립자인 타베디쿨 박사는 1995년 교육부의 허가를 받아 국제유치원을 국제학교(Didyasarin International School)로 확장하였고, 2000년에 The American School of Bangkok으로 이름을 변경하였습니다. ASB는 2000년에 동아시아국제학교협의회(EARCOS)와 미국서부학교협회(WASC)의 인증을 받았으며, 현재 35년 이상의 국제학교 경력의 Mr. Sean O'Maonaigh께서 교장선생님으로 재직하고 계십니다. 전세계 21개국에 자매학교를 두고 있는 XCL 재단의 학교인만큼 최고의 교육 수준을 유지하기 위해 재단 차원에서 꾸준히 관리되고 있으며, 학생들에게 최고의 서포트를 제공합니다.


ASB는 2023년 10월 현재 40개 이상의 나라에서 온 국제학생들 약 77%, 태국 현지학생들 약 23%로 구성되어 있습니다.
